Big Blue Sailing

Paul was a great instructor; we felt comfortable trying to sail the boat. He gave us lots of opportunities to learn through doing, yet we knew he was right there to help us if we did anything incorrectly. The boat was clean and tidy, and well taken care of. We opted to have Paul do the food for our two night/ three day trip and it was excellent - much better than the cereal and pre- made sandwiches we were expecting. I was hoping my partner would enjoy the experience; he did and can’t wait to go again. Thanks very much.

We just came back from a week-long sailing course. Reading other reviews, it's hard to add something new. We had an amazing time, learned a ton and are very encouraged to actually buy a boat. Paul is a great guy. I felt that we had an amazing amount of autonomy and yet all the support we needed. Everyone who ever tried to teach anything knows how hard is it to strike that balance. This course was all I was expecting to be! Paul is a great guy and a exceptional teacher. We all feel super at ease and really enjoy the whole trip. The fact that Paul's cooking is delicious make it even better! :) I'm definitely going to sign on for more classes with him once he offers more. Don't look further and just go with Big Blue Sailing!

My husband and I joined Paul on the 5-day learn to sail course last week. It was amazing! We got a real sense of what the sailing lifestyle is. We learned lots and had a fantastic time. His program is perfect: each day has some new challenge and several hours of sailing yet it also allows for some down time - important for a vacation. The evenings allowed time for land excursions and often, dinner on the deck watching the sun set (anchoring was in calm and protected coves).

The food was great and the bed very comfy. The living area is surprisingly roomy - for a sail boat-and comfortable for reading and playing games. Paul is so easy going and accommodating it really made for a nice time. He made us feel right at home on his boat.

Paul is also, thankfully, a great teacher and very patient. So patient! We learned lots and look forward to getting on the water again someday.

This was definitely one of our most unique and memorable vacations ever. And right in our backyard - no commuting necessary!
