  We stumbled across this place six months ago while visiting the area and had an exquisite meal. When we decided to come back to our Chelsea hideaway, the first thing we said was that we had to come back to The Village House. It did not disappoint. We came for the small plates, and it was again exquisite. We shared five dishes - every one absolutely delicious - and a dessert, and left very full. The highlight was the pork cheek - it was so savoury and complex and meltingly tender. This is a gem and an absolute must visit in the area. We would eat here every week if we lived closer. Very highly recommended.

  Best hidden secret in Wakefield.
  We were there this time for valentines diner. Amazing fresh and creative meal.

  Absolutely Amazing, food and service were perfect. We came in for the small plate Sunday dinner and were blown away. If you are in Wakefield you need to try this place. Service was quick and on point, everything was perfect down to dessert and coffee. Thanks again will be back for sure.

  We just had our second meal at this wonderful restaurant. Each dish served is so well thought through that every bite is savoured and not a single flavour is out of place. The only meal equal to the one we just had was the one we had here a few months ago. There are a number of fine establishments in the area but they are a distant second as good as they are.

  This is a quaint little house on the main street that has been converted into a restaurant. The hostess (owner) is fantastic. The food is off high quality. My issues are more to do with my preference. I did not like the ambience. Tables are far too close. 10" between tables? Food seems really expensive for what you get. That said, I'm glad I tried it. Not for me.
