  Simple menu like a pub, friendly waiter. Food needs to be better calibrated; some parts were quite tasty, and some not. Now, if this was just food for maintenance while taking in a show at the Black Sheep Inn, food would be secondary to the show and not the main focus of the outing...or the review...
  But we ended up there in a sort of après ski just for a late lunch (did not know Black Sheep Inn which is part of the same building was closed) and as a lunch destination, the Rutherford Bistro could have used some tweaks to make it more worthwhile.
  
  Firstly, the view from the windows is WONDERFUL! But the diner is very VERY plain, almost like eating at a takeout with a few tables. Wouldn’t take much TLC to enhance the ambience. ≈
  
  Fries were very, VERY good. Best part of the meal. But poutine sauce was dark DARK brown and way too heavy a flavour. A light chicken flavoured gravy works better without stealing flavour from the cheese curds and fries.
  
  Pulled pork in burger and fries came with tasty meat, although meat was positively overly slathered in sauce. Came in a toasted bun, no greens. Very plain. A tangy coleslaw with apple or something would cut the heaviness of the meat and add extra dimension to the taste. The fries, as I said, were very good.
  
  The garlic burger contained a somewhat dry (son said burnt) patty but the combo with pickles and fixings were pretty tasty. A more juicy meat patty would make this burger top notch. The salad was good, although different.
  
  Nachos had good amount of guacamole and sour cream, but very few nacho chips (aren’t those the cheap part of the dish?) It could easily have benefitted from a ton more nacho chips with which to eat the guacamole!
  
  The kids’ meal was just a bowl of Mac & cheese which was in itself fairly good. But could have used some crunchy crudités and a drink.
  
  And the water is so full of iron, you couldn’t drink it, tastes like a mouth full of rusty nails! A filter on the water would help to alleviate a lot of the smell and some of that taste. We know, our cottage has a well like that.
  
  Anyhow, with a tip, it came out to just under 100$. For a family of 7 including two wee kids (no alcohol just a few glasses of milk and a cola because the water was not drinkable). So overall, not bad value but then again, it was for very plain fare (2 poutines, 2 burgers, 1 nachos, 2 macs & cheese)
  With a few (not expensive) plating and food combo tweaks along with some room decor, it would be much better value...as a food destination.

  Get thet pulled pork nachos with Honey, and do NOT forget to ask for their jalapeno relish on the side. The best. They also make home made Chipotle hot sauces that are delicious. Skip the ribs. They're mediocre.

  Nice ambience on a summer day on the patio. Food was typical fare, nothing fancy. Service was good.
