Used to be the gym i always went! But with time you just realize there is gyms that costs 3x times less but in general great place to workout, swim, play basket ball, learn etc!

Good gym. Terrible response time to inquiries.

The staff responsible for answering e-mails are either very slow or do not care about our questions. I've written 3 e-mails so far to ask a few questions and they haven't responded yet. I don't suggest you communicate with them using e-mails. Perhaps in person? Good luck anyway with getting some answers.

I tried once the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA, especially the Ben Weider Gym and the pool, and I would say that the gym is big, well equipped, peaceful and clean.
Then, both the cloakroom and the showers are neat.
In addition, there is free shampoo, shower gel, and hair dryer. Finally, the pool is quite big and deep and the water was very hot, so it was nice to swim there.
Despite this, the cons are that at the entrance all backpacks and bags are checked and I did not like that, some staff members are not really competent, and finally, the majority of the gym's guests were older than me, it was not Jurassic Park but almost, and that was not very motivating.

I am aware that the Y has many different types of activities. However, in my brief late visit I was impressed how the young and the old are having a great time exercising... The young were playing basketball in the gym, while the dancers in the other hall kept on dancing with smiles on their faces.
....when I walk an hour a day I do not smile or enjoy it as I used to enjoy playing basketball.
