(May 9, 2020, 12:40 am)Although I have never physically been to the bakery, I have had the pleasure of experiencing many different baked goods that have travelled in a cardboard box from Waterloo to Lakefield, Ontario..248 kms one-way. PS...all in one piece and no bite marks!!! I especially LOVE the variety of cupcakes, squares and cookies. Each one with it's own personality of flavor. Thumbs up to Julie, the owner of this bakery. I can honestly say I know where her heart is.... Congrats...look forward to visiting the store someday.

(March 7, 2020, 7:39 pm)Was in the neighborhood and decided to pop in. Didn't realize they had closed 5 mins earlier but was still welcomed inside. Very friendly and genuinely nice staff greeted me and told me about the cupcakes. Cupcakes themselves were yummy as well, especially the pink lemonade one and the coffee one. Thanks for being polite to a straggler haha

(November 24, 2019, 6:02 am)Julie did an amazing job on our wedding cake and cupcakes! As soon as we tasted her cupcakes at a wedding expo, we knew there was something different about her cupcakes — They aren’t heavy, and the buttercream icing is to die for! We went to a tasting and she allowed us to bring two guests with us to try a variety of favours. We were able to customize everything; the flavour of cupcake, icing, fillings and toppings. We also had her create a custom wedding cake, which turned out amazing. On top of all that, it was extremely well priced. Thank you again Julie!

(July 26, 2019, 7:22 pm)We hired Julie G. and the Refined Sugar Cakes & Sweets team this past June 2019 to create our wedding cake. Prior to signing on, we were able to book a cake tasting to ensure that they were the right vendor for us. We were provided with a large variety of cake and icing combinations to sample. Julie G. hosted a relaxed, fun, and sales-pressure-free tasting in-store that made us feel special and made us excited about our upcoming event. She really listened to our feedback and preferences. Following booking, she was responsive to our correspondence and ensured that we had the right level of service (delivery and set-up) and product (portion numbers) for our needs. Julie has a great selection of cake stands available to rent – we had no trouble finding one that matched the aesthetic of our day. Our wedding cake was exactly what we had envisioned, and it tasted amazing! Our guests really enjoyed it too!
