We called Royal Innovation Deck Builder because we wanted to maximize our backyard space. We asked them to send one of their trusted contractors over, and he arrived promptly. He inspected the site, and he provided us with a nice design and a highly affordable deal. They also assured us they would use only the best cedar decking materials so the structure would complement our house. They didn’t disappoint as their builders handled the task efficiently. The structure is sturdy, and the craftsmanship is quite impressive. We wouldn’t mind recommending them to our friends in the neighborhood.

Adam and his team did a great job building a new deck for our raised first floor (16 ft high, 16 ft x10 ft area). We love the composite boards and in particular the glass railing, which allows for unobstructed views of our ravine.

Everyone in the company is very friendly, professional, and pro-active. They were very responsive to our questions and requests (e.g., final touch-ups).

Also, the team handled the whole permit procedures (with both the city and conservation area) for us, which worked out well. You should be aware that this can be a lengthy procedure (about 2 months for us) with extra costs, so plan ahead if you want to enjoy your deck next summer!

Long story short, we have already obtained a building permit to rebuild and expand the 30+ yrs old deck of my house in late spring. We have shopped around but decided to hire Royal Innovation because they can do the deck and the stone patio together under one contract. Adam guaranteed that he can get the brand and color of stone we want. It works out great as the patio finished before they do the deck framing. The carpentry skills of Blair and Travis were beyond our expectations. It was exciting to watch how they turn a pile of lumber into the deck frames and the deck within a matter of days. We passed various stages of the permit inspections with flying colors. The building inspector said every time the deck is very well built and solid.

I will definitely recommend them if anyone I know is getting a deck done. You maybe able to pay less to a general contractor or other deck builders to get it done, most don't do stone work (patio + walkway). Some expect you to find the materials you want. Adam came with both physical samples and pictures. And ask the questions along with costs differences to guide us through the details that will affect the end result. The unit pricing system of Royal Innovation is great, way better than the magic numbers other contracts gave me.
