The instruction is high quality as evidenced by their children who's skills were impressive.
My adult training partners were tough but friendly.
It was a great experience and I will definitely be back the next time I visit Ottawa.

Thank you Joel, Kayla, Richard and Adam and all other ground x team members for giving Ottawa an opportunity to train together on Sundays at noon. They don't have to do it but they open their doors to all teams, this is how BJJ should be, welcoming and friendly.
And thank you for running competitions that have cash prizes! -

(July 12, 2022, 1:20 am)My son (13 years old) started at this club two months ago. After playing hockey for 7 years, including competitive, I wanted my son to try something else for the summer. After a few weeks he took to BJJ so much that he moved on from hockey. The supporting atmosphere at Ground X, and the coaches made all the difference.
From the first time he nervously stepped into the club, he was made to feel truly welcome by all. I can't say enough good things about the people training there as well as the coaches, especially Joel and Richard (pictured here grappling with my son). In the club, I observed that everyone trains and helps each other get better.
Now for the other stuff. As a parent I like the flexibility the club offers. My son can attend lessons 7 days a week, so it's ok if he's not there on a particular day. The club is in a great location, and there are quite a few programs and membership options available for kids / adults. My son likes there are competitions, locally, as well as outside of Ottawa, which the club supports through their league.
Simply put, 5 stars isn't enough to give Ground X and I recommend it to everyone from kids to adults, novice to advanced BJJ practitioners. If you're nervous to walk into a new place, as we were, just go in. You'll be glad you did.
