So close to town but in the country. Well run and beautifully maintained. Geese fly over morning and evening - delightful. And a great view.

My husband and I were very lucky to be able to stay at The Trumpeter Inn back in June 2018. Shaun was so lovely and her B&B was as lovely as her. We stayed in the Rosemary bedroom and it was the best choice we made. The king size bed was amazing and I can honestly say that it was the best sleep I ever got. The bathroom was huge as well! There was a fireplace and a balcony, both which we didn’t use but it’s good to know that they were there if we needed them. Shaun’s food was so good! For my birthday she made waffles which is pretty much my favorite food. This was entirely a coincidence but I think it was meant to be—Shaun is that good. She also left chocolate covered strawberries in my room as a birthday surprise. Her dogs, goats, and alpacas were adorable and we had a great time spending time with all of them. If we’re ever back in the island, which I hope we will be, we will stay here again in a heart beat.
    Lots of love,
    Gaby and Sam

We spent 3 nights here at the inn for our anniversary trip. Everything about it was amazing! The room we had was very nice, with great views. Shaun, the hostess, is very friendly and tries to make sure all of the guests have a great stay. Her home cooked breakfast meals are delicious! If you miss breakfast for an early trip, she will make a packed breakfast bag to take with you. She has two dogs who we gave lots of attention to during our stay. The setting is beautiful, not too far away from the harbor but enough that it is very peaceful. One of the nights there were no clouds and I have never seen so many stars in my life! The lack of light pollution in this area makes that possible. I absolutely loved everything about this stay, and the island, I look forward to coming back for a future stay!

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. The owner is awesome. She left chocolate covered strawberries in our room for my birthday. She had fresh baked cookies, snacks, and juice available in the kitchen each day, all day. She kept the windows open so it was always cool and fresh inside. The dogs were very well behaved, we barely seen them. The owner even offered to take the guests who did not have a car into town. She puts a lot of love and care into breakfast. Each morning we had fresh fruit and orange juice to enjoy with our meal. There were 2 lounging areas with games etc. for guests to enjoy. We would definitely stay here again!!

I've been staying at this beautiful B&B since my first visit in 2015 and would not stay anywhere else when I vacation on San Juan Island. The setting in San Juan Valley, surrounded by farmland, is extremely peaceful and tranquil. The grounds are filled with beautiful flowers and trees and are a habitat for all kinds of birds. The air is always filled with birdsong and the air so clean and fresh.

The location is very convenient to any destination on the island. The breakfasts here are so special, from the beautifully set table, the delicious food, unobtrusive and friendly service to the interesting conversations with fellow guests.

The rooms are beautifully and tastefully furnished, with luxurious bedding and bath towels. Guests have the inn to themselves as the owner lives in a separate house. The common areas are tastefully decorated and have everything one could need. Including the Inn's amazing delicious cookies, a different variety baked fresh every day and set out for guests in the spacious kitchen.

And a small herd of alpacas and pygmy goats...two adorable and beautiful canine "hosts". A truly special place made so by the special magic and warm hospitality of owner/host Shaun. She is in a class of her own.
