(January 30, 2019, 11:24 am)the views were ahh inspiring, the "cabin" was a large two story house filled with everything needed for a great stay. The managers were friendly and available, and you can't beat the winter rates.

(April 29, 2018, 11:29 pm)We just got back from a 2-night stay at the Orca Watch cabin. There is a private hot-tub and a public wet-sauna that is a 15 second walk away. Both were amazing, as was the thought and style of the cabin. Everything from the hosts' greeting to the great location and view was top notch. I haven't been this relaxed in ages, and we will be back!

(May 28, 2016, 9:43 pm)Amazing, unique, peaceful setting for our stand-alone Eagle's Nest cottage with as many things to discover inside, as outside. Stained glass sky light and window in bathroom. The shelves throughout were stocked with books and unexpected little treasures. Kitchen and living area looked out across the beautiful San Juans. Gas fireplace made it so cozy to snuggle up inside and admire the beauty of the Islands and water. Natural pathways meandered through the woods, including one which led down to the beach, all sprinkled with lighted ornaments on the trees and hidden in the natural vegetation along the paths. Slider swings and areas to sit were scattered throughout. It was magical! Children, pets and grown-ups can marvel at discovering the unexpected! The host was wonderful. A beautiful, large hot tub awaited us on our own very private deck, along with a gas barbeque. So much to discover that we will have to return to see everything!

(July 3, 2014, 12:16 am)We stayed at the Salish Seaside Escapes four years ago. I recently returned and they have continued to expand and innovate.
Our "cottage" was large. Truthfully, it was more like a good-sized house. Several cool features: It had a library entirely devoted to food, drinks, coffee, etc. I think each place may have its own themed library. The design and furnishings are unique to each cottage. Each has its own architectural style and the interiors are beautifully and eclectically decorated. Our place was very clean, which is important to us. Added benefit: The hosts were amazing. Very warm and culturally connected.
Orcas has a magical vibe and the Salish Seaside Escapes imbibes that vibe. Nothing wrong with chain hotels and motels but this is not that. This is part of an experience you won't soon forget.
