(November 8, 2022, 12:12 am)It was my first appointment with a podiatrist and I was stressed. In fact, for everything medical in general, I'm stressed, because sometimes, when you're a fat person, you don't always have adequate services and it sometimes happens that our problems are quickly attributed to our weight. We are hardly examined if it is not at all and appointments are very quick, let's say in those times. In short, this is one of the reasons why, despite my 25 years, my father accompanied me: as moral support.
I also told Dr. Emond at the beginning of my appointment that I suspected that my weight was not helping. But you know what ? He took the time to listen to me. The appointment lasted about an hour and I never felt judged. He even took the time to tell me that my weight was not the main cause (it didn't help, but it wasn't JUST that and he wanted to point it out to me) and I really appreciated it. I felt like a person and it felt good.
Thank you for treating me like a human being and helping me improve my quality of life through every step I take. -
