Superb kayak ride along the red river. Current is moderate which will keep you going. Just make sure you take plenty of water and snacks, you will need them!

As a couple, spend the weekend there two times a year (Winter and Summer) in their cozy cabins. It is the most beautiful getaway (especially in the wintertime) without electricity and wifi! The staff remember who we are and welcome us back "home" every time :) I love how well maintained and clean the cabins are every time we arrive. To add, everything is always ready for us (butane, wood, etc.); it is hassle free and incredibly easy. Staff are just a phone call away and will bring things promptly. With easy access to the river and many trails in the area, I couldn't think of a better way to get off the grid with my significant other. That being said, on our fourth trip, we got engaged in one of the wagons, it was magical. ✨

We did stand up paddle boarding at Kayak Cafe on Labour Day. I would describe it as one of the best experiences paddle boarding. We did the 12 KM one and it was a scenic route with multiple small sandy islands where you can take stops. Do not underestimate the 3 hour time it can be tiring so bring some snacks!

I really loved the staff of Kayak Cafe they were so kind and helpful. I cant wait to come before the season ends. Thanks guys so much.

Totally worth it. We did 4 hrs paddleboarding, 12 km, we only stopped once for like 30 min and the rest was paddling. Just enough time, and we are pretty fit. So I was surprised about how long it took us. Our pace was on the slow side but I thought we were quicker than that.

Excellent activity for the whole family! Only advice: take 1 or 2 or even 3 extra hours for your ride to have plenty of time to enjoy the wonderful beaches along the rivière Rouge. It's the same price! If you take the recommended duration for your ride, you don't have time to stop! They usually offer 1 extra hour but we found it tight: we stopped at a wonderful beach to eat and relax for about 45 minutes and then we didn't stop to be sure to arrive at destination on time. If you miss your scheduled bus for the return, you can take the next one at no extra cost but they will take the scheduled person first so if it's full, you need to wait again another hour to see if they have room to bring you back.
We usually take a canoe since it's easy to carry a cooler with lunch to eat anywhere we want along the ride.
The river is shallow and calm. The water is excellent quality and clear! Very safe. The sand on some beaches is as soft as in the Carribean!!
