Lac la Pêche

Great place to go canoeing or kayaking but the fishing is not what it used to be! Not many fish left in the lake - been there twice and did not catch a thing!!

One of the most beautiful lakes I've been too. Great spots for swimming. Canoe camping is a must here!

Stunning lake and a beautiful beach. Boats rentals are easily accessible as they are on the same long beach. Heads up there is a few kilometers of gravel road to the parking lot, but nothing to fret over. Note that there is a fee for parking in summer months.

This place is so relaxing. I went there as a kid and recently visited again as an adult. It's so nice being only an hour away from Ottawa and the drive out and back is so pretty.

The beach is incredibly safe for kids with the buoy'd swim area. For older crowds there's some rocks to jump off and a nice bay to swim in. I highly recommend going there for a weekend relaxation trip.

The bottom is a mix of sharp rocks, mushy sand, and weeds(maybe bring water shoes if you can) but otherwise it is a very nice , clean beach to spend the day at. Tons of space to set up a space without crowding other people and lots of shade (I'd still recommend bringing a beach umbrella as the shady spots get claimed fast.) Only downside is that it is legal to smoke on public beaches in Quebec, so we saw a lot of that, but most of the smokers were very courteous to stand downwind or step away from the beach area without us even having to notice them at all.
