(February 23, 2018, 9:01 pm)Érigée en 1866 par l’architecte Zéphirin Perreault, l’église de Batiscan est un véritable petit bijou d’architecture néo-gothique : la hauteur du chœur et de la nef, la voûte en ogive, ainsi que toutes les décorations très exubérantes qui s’y retrouvent en témoignent. C’est aussi l’une des plus vieilles églises du Québec dont le décor, de plâtre moulé, existe encore dans son état d’origine.En 1967, l'église de Batiscan confiait ses plus beaux trésors au Musée national des beaux-arts pour les protéger du vol et du feu. Après 42 ans d'entreposage dans la réserve du Musée, ces oeuvres sont maintenant de retour à Batiscan et désormais accessibles à la population.
