(February 16, 2023, 6:51 pm)West Island Sewing Machines was very highly praised by a friend, so after 3 calls to OTHER repairs stores who all told me that they "didn't want to get involved with my vintage Bernina Nova 900 and its problems", I gave this place a call.
Very friendly and patient on the phone (as is person) and to my surprise, I was accepted and told to bring my machine in.
One day later, 2/2 of my problems are expertly repaired (complicated gear dismantling and adjustment for buttonhole and impossible to find pedal was replaced with the exact same vintage model he had in stock! ).
My machine is purring and running as perfectly as it was when it was made in the 80s.
Price of the repair+pedal was very reasonable.
A true magician who rescued and cured my machine, a rare pearl of a craftsman of the calibre that is impossible to find today AND he has an impressive repertoire of parts.
I hope he never retires! -

(January 16, 2023, 6:21 pm)Wow what a gorgeous shop Mr. Kamel has set up, full of beautifully restored antique sewing machines. I brought my mother's sewing machine in and Mr. Kamel guaranteed it would be repaired within the hour. True to his word, it was ready to go on time. My mother has used his service once before and was extremely satisfied that time as well.
