(January 22, 2023, 4:51 am)Group of ten, Saturday night walk-in. We sat in the bar area and the vibe was great, fun music, great drink menu.
I had an espresso martini and it was well prepared, service was a little slow but it was Saturday night and we were there to hang out. In January they have a wonderful couple outdoor tables with a fire to warm you up.
Drink prices were quite good for a tourist area. -

(November 26, 2022, 5:29 pm)I stopped in to eat at Archibald last night on the recommendation of some people I met while out walking. Everywhere else either had menus I wasn't interested in or was by reservation only so off I went to Archibald. When I arrived there was a large bus of senior citizens who'd just sat down but the manager *still* said I could come in for dinner if I was okay with sitting at the bar (of course I was)!
Once seated, I was treated like a queen by one of the best bartenders I've ever met. Patrick was quick, friendly, and extremely helpful, not just about the food but also about the people of and life in Quebec City (I love knowing these things so this just made me love my choice to eat at Archibald even more and, as I watched around the room, I could see everyone was openly enjoying their interaction with Patrick - now that's magic! But back to the food...
I'd been walking for hours so I was famished-but-not-famished, if you know what I mean. Archibald has a very robust, delicious sounding menu but I knew most of it would be too much food for me so I opted for French Onion Soup. It was absolutely delicious - if I could change one thing, I would have had more broth and slightly crisper onions, but it was still very good just as it was. After I sat people watching for a while, I decided to have a piece of cheese cake with berry compote. I would not change one thing about my dessert! Not one!
If you're looking for a place that feels like the perfect mix between gastro pub and fine dining, with reasonably priced hearty fare, Archibald is just what you need! -

They are not quite open to provide custom plates but still were helpful!
The staff were very friendly and nice…

(May 31, 2022, 2:25 am)Cozy place, good food and drinks! Definitely a good choise for a weekend night. Went with my husband and ordered poutine, fries and chicken BBQ wings which were really tasty, the sangria was well done, we loved everything from this place. Prices were ok and service super friendly. Great thing it is located in the heart of the old city.

(November 22, 2021, 4:00 am)This was our first brewery stop in Quebec. My first time having poutine, and it was very good. And a great selection of beers. We came here twice during our stay. The server was very nice and helpful - giving us ideas about the area and what to see during our stay. We also tried the sangria, which was very nice as well. A definite stop on your trip especially if you find yourself in the petite Champlain area or heading to the ferry to cross the river to Levis.
