Had a great experience with this adventure. We were a bit late arriving and when we spoke, he agreed to wait for us. We did not see any whales, but they were very informative about lobster fishing. We all got a chance to drop in a line and catch a few mackerel. The cruise itself was worth the money. We would do it again next time in PEI

Wasn't sure what to expect boarding a lobster boat in the middle of August, but I sure did enjoy the experience. We were onboard the Shine Shack with Captain Gerard and his cousin Robbie. Genuinely enjoyed the experience learning about the fishing industry and in particular the lobster fishing techniques. We didn't see any whales, and if I'm honest I didn't really expect to, but I whole heartily appreciated the opportunity to get a small peak into their livelihood and thought that was well worth the day trip from Charlottetown. Complimentary beverages were provided, we saw many porpoises and seals, a lobster and deepsea fishing demo was also provided. It was a great day on the water.

We spent the afternoon with Gerard and Robbie and had a fantastic day! We did see several whales and some seals. They also did a lobster catching demonstration, which was very informative, if you're like me and have no idea how they are caught! We also had the opportunity to fish for mackerel, and a couple of folks caught cod. Gerard went out of his way searching for whales. It was easy to book a tour through the website. Gerard answers the submitted form, if you use that feature, and he was committed to getting in touch with me via phone when we played a game of phone tag!
We went into this tour not really knowing what to expect and the day far exceeded what we could have imagined. Alot of what made the day so great was Captain Gerard and Robbie!

Amazing trip out into the open water. The captain and his first mate Robbie were so welcoming and friendly. They answered every question we had as well as were easy to connect with prior to our trip. Our adventure started with a lobster fishing demonstration, followed by viewing the seals. The captain and Robbie took time to take our photos on the boat with the lighthouse behind us. We were able to see some whales and the fishing was fantastic and extremely fun. The captain went out of his way to ensure we saw whales. I would love to spend a full day fishing with the captain and his crew if I could. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a unique experience.

Captain Gerard and his crew are very friendly. The entire experience is very easy from leaving a message on their website, getting a call back from Gerard, to onboarding the Shine Shack. We were lucky enough to see a few porpoises and catch some Mackerels. This is definitely one of my best memories on the island. Will recommend to friends and families!
