If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful, centrally located campground to park your RV while you explore Prince Edward Island, I would recommend Cymbria. We stayed here for 1 week in August of 2023 with our 39’ Fifth Wheel and we actually had room on our site once we were parked. This was partly because of the size of the sites, but also because they ask campers to park any additional vehicles in the overflow parking lot. Even though this was a very rainy year, our site had a beautiful lawn, we were able to walk around bear foot since they don’t allow rugs which would have damage the lawn. It was also nice to see a campground take interest in recycling, they even provided us with the bags to do so.

I found the staff very helpful and friendly. When we arrived, I explained that I needed to make an adjustment to my booking and they were able to accommodate us easily. Being new to camping, we did have an issue with our camper after office hours, in less then 30 minutes, we received a call back and 2 staff members were on our site helping us with the problem. The staff work hard and care about the campground as well as the campers in it. If you greet the staff with a smile and respect, they will show the same to you.

This campground was as described, it is older but definitely clean and cared for. The sites themselves are spacious and the right amount of wooded area providing some privacy and lots of room to camp comfortably. There were a ton of empty sites, more than I would expect this time of year (august) which may be because this campground felt as if it was best suited for older couples rather than kids/families.

The rules at this campground are excessive, which wouldn’t be an issue if they were delivered in a polite and kind manner but that was not always the case.

The front desk ladies were great, helpful and kind, and shared rules politely, which we must have missed the rule that we could not have two vehicles parked inside the grounds even though I indicated we had a second vehicle on booking and paid extra to have one. The first night we were sitting by the fire with our vehicles parked at our site and a man in a bee suit came rushing onto our site yelling at us asking us to explain what we were doing here. Shocked we said what do you mean? He continued to yell saying ‘you have two vehicles here!!’ We tried to explain we had indicated we had two vehicles when booking but he said, ‘no you were told on check in you cannot have two vehicles inside and you have to move it immediately’, of course we did move right away, it had to remain parked out front in the parking lot for the remainder of our trip.

Had he just introduced himself and said, hey I noticed you have two vehicles here, our policy is one only could you please move, that would have caused no issue or raised a flag for us, it’s an annoying rule that feels illogical but I’m sure there is a reason and we had no issue complying, but to be yelled at in front of our kids while sitting peacefully at a fire, without an introduction or anything, it was highly unprofessional and made us uneasy/on edge the rest of the trip hoping we weren’t breaking some unknown rule and about to get scolded.

    Pros-
    Sites are great, perfect size
Privacy due to site sizes and lack of other campers , it was almost empty to be honest likely due to the rules and lack of kid focus
Quiet, clean campground, pool was never busy
    Pool was clean
    Mini golf on the campground
Female workers were kind and helpful

    Cons
No kids programming, nothing was tailored to kids at all and every kids activity that was there (mini golf, foose ball, pool table) cost money every time, nothing was included in the cost of your stay
Rude and angry bee keeper/potential owner
Rules feel illogical, no mats allowed on trailer sites to preserve the grass but you can set a tent up on the trailer sites
Everything is run down, the mini golf is falling apart, the buildings are old and could use some upkeep like a scrape and some paint
No kindling on site to buy

Overall I think this is a good campground for older couples or families staying for quick visits, we travel to PEI every year for a week of camping, we likely would not stay here again but honestly only because of the one guy and the fact that other campgrounds cater more to kids.

Nice quiet campground. I have been here twice now and will come here any time I’m in the province. Staff are friendly, washrooms are clean, showers are nice. Rec room has a nice pool table. This isn’t a place to throw a party or be noisy but if you want a nice semi private campground you’re in the right place.

We stayed at Cymbria for three days and it was exactly what we were looking for - quiet and safe, close to Cavendish. Great pool for the kids. The manager, Cindy, and staff were helpful and approachable. The older washrooms/ showers are free and definitely not as spacious and bright as the new shower, but kept clean. If you prefer,
pay the $1 and the new shower runs plenty long enough. Read through the park rules and you know exactly what you're getting. We would definitely return.

Stayed here summer of 2023 during the County music festival (we didn't attend just happened to be vacationing/visiting family at that time). There were 5 of us (3 children under 10) Don't let the 1 star reviews deter you. This is not a party campground. People were kind and respectful and other campers friendly. The pool was nice (wish it opened a bit earlier than 10 though). I appreciated the extra security during the festival weekend. The garbage rules are not extraordinary - if you are from NS, it's very similar garbage rules. It was clean, felt safe and didn't have to worry about rowdiness. There is a decent amount of space between camper sites too which was nice. There are rules for a reason and if you are looking for a clean, professionally run place I would recommend staying here.
