First:
The building is great, neighbours are awesome, maintenance is great. Truly loved living there.
Second: When we moved in they had just finished redoing the floors and the baseboards were never put back on. We walked around them the whole time we were there. After 3.5 months we noticed a sloshing sound. Turns out our unit had been flooding under the floor boards since the floors were installed. They offered us $100 off next months rent or another apartment in another building. We chose to relocate as I hadn't had of use my bedroom for over a week at that point as the floors were torn up and all my stuff was moved to the living room.
Third:
Things were good at the new building until it was time to leave. When the lease term had ended we handed in our notice to leave with over 60 days notice. Constant pleasant communication throughout this time. 2 days before moving day we message the property manager about the walkthrough. The PM forgot we were moving and didn't show for 3 walkthroughs over several days. We did not receive our lmr and had had constant text and email communication in regards to it for weeks. We were continually told it was on its way, it'll take a few weeks, etc. When 60 days passed the PM went silent, I then contacted Westmount Group. They came back to me accusing me of 1, asking for a deferral of payment and 2, handing in my notice with less than 60 days. Both complete lies. We went to the LTB tribunal. We proved our case with overwhelming evidence and received our LMR back.
Made whole in the end
Probably the only housing company in the region I'd actually trust, the units are affordable, they offer quick maintenance, the maintenance guy, John is really friendly and helpful, and the tenant liaison and Owner are very nice. I've lived in one of their buildings for a year and a half and have had virtually no troubles.
