  The pub itself gets 4 out of 5 stars. they have Boddingtons. The inside is comfortable. It's a nice place to have lunch. they staff is friendly and the service is good. Prices are what you'd expect: lunch and two pints, with taxes and tip is a $40 bill.
  
  The food usually earns about a 4 out of 5 also, but I'm only awarding the fish tacos 1 out of 5. there was more meat in my beef and ginger soup (5 out of 5 for the soup) than there was in the fish tacos. There was exactly one bite in each taco that had fish.

  Amazing food and service. I recommend this place to everyone. It has been a complete turn around since the original management started running it again.

  I was there for Robbie Burns day. So we enjoyed bag pipes and poetry with our supper. Under new "old" management. I'm happy they are back.
  
  The menu is similar to what it used to be. I ordered the liver and onions, like a rock star. One piece was perfect, but the other was burnt and leathery. Fortunately the wait staff responded quickly and resolved the issue to my complete satisfaction.
  
  It's the first time this happened and I expect the liver to be perfectly cooked, per usual, the next time.

  Service was friendly. Food was average and price was average. For the food, I would have given a three star ... It was not bad but it was not to my expectations (my family lived in England for a year so our expectations were a bit high). I did enjoy the roast. The sticky toffee pudding was not as good as expected. It was too big, too. The atmosphere was nice and the place was clean. It's a place I would consider once in a while for a night out with the family.

  I recently visited Whale & Ale British Pub with a group of 6 people for lunch, based on an enthusiastic recommendation from a coworker. The comfortable and authentic pub atmosphere was immediately inviting and easily accommodated the size of our group. We were seated at a large, round table located near the back of the restaurant and were able to converse comfortably in the quiet environment. I had my order promptly taken by the friendly and polite staff member who informed us of the daily specials and brought each guest a glass of water. My personal choice, Lemon Rosemary Chicken, was made to order and took slightly longer than most other dishes to prepare, but it was certainly worth the wait. I was very satisfied with the quality of food as well as the efficient and attentive customer service I received. I enjoyed this unique restaurant's well-decorated interior and would recommend the pub to anyone looking for an out of the ordinary lunch destination.
