  Great selection of Japanese knives, though the store itself is quite small. Enjoyed trying out a few knives, particularly the Konosuke and Takeda lines. You're encouraged to do a simple carrot cut test with any of the knives you are interested in. Staff are very willing to help you, and discuss knives, and recommendations. Knowledge here is in-depth and passionate, which is a huge plus. Did feel there was a slight push to sell the knives I appeared interested in, but it was not overbearing. Sharpening service seems popular, as there is a backlog of orders and turnaround is 3-4 days. I would say that the experience and enthusiasm of the staff here make me very curious to try out their sharpening service in the future, and this may affect the review significantly. In the meantime, I would highly recommend TOSHO for any Japanese knife enthusiast.
  
  EDIT: Ended up ordering a knife from here online as well. Arrived promptly, well packaged, and with a nice little handwritten note to boot! Screaming sharp out of the box. Looking forward to using this knife often. :) Only complaint is the string on the pin for the saya fell apart pretty much immediately when I pulled it out. I fashioned a makeshift knot as a quick, but unfortunate fix (see photos for comparison).
  
  Also came with a complimentary vegetable peeler, which I almost missed. Strange, because I needed a new one actually...

  Went there today to look for a new chef knife for industry use. Didn't expect much for customer service as I'm usually set on what I want, but my rep was extremely well versed in knowledge and made me/allowed me to test over 10 different knives with various vegetables until I decided on a knife that was tailored for my needs. I would highly recommend this knife store for anyone looking for a serious lifelong industry knife that's going to last!

  Amazing experience at this store. Made me feel important and went with me step by step through the whole process without feeling pressured. will definitely make this my go to store!
