  A lot of the reviews about this hotel are a bit ridiculous.
  This hotel was amazing from the second we walked in. It is in kind of a rough area of Toronto but the surrounding neighbourhoods have absolutely beautiful Victorian houses and amazing food. There is an Irish Pub about a 15 minute walk away with incredible drink selections and wonderful food.
  The man at the front desk was incredibly friendly and we got along really well with him. The rooms are tiny but they are super adorable and exactly the perfect size for a nice little weekend trip! The bathrooms are pretty cool, our toilet and shower were separate from the sink and mirror which I enjoyed because it was easier to get ready.
  All in all, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I have absolutely no complaints and would definitely return again!

  Great service. Could get 5 stars if the parking facility was good. If you pay for your parking, they let you park on the side of the street. But you have to move your vehicle before 11 am. Other than that, room service was good at cheap price. Rooms were a bit small as well as washroom but good at that price. Near to the downtown. Everything available nearby.

  This place was great! I needed a place to sleep while I attended a wedding. The location was perfect, the bed was comfortable and the shower had excellent pressure.
  
  Don’t judge a book by its cover; my room was updated and the light breakfast served in the morning was perfect to get the day started. It is evident that there is plenty of hard work that goes into the guest services at the Royal Oak. Thank-you!

  I enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. Perfect for an overnight. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I had zero issues with the neighborhood. I like that it is diverse and close to all the downtown fantasticness of Toronto. I did not think it was super sketchy as others have stated, probably because I lived in NYC for years. The only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is that I did not find any parking at the inn. I parked down the street (about 3-4 blocks) in a reasonably priced supervised lot for $20 for 24-hours and walked to the inn. I would stay here again.
