  A great place to go with pre-schoolers. Great for city kids to see "real" farm animals they would never see otherwise. Fun to see baby animals there. Riverdale Farm is right beside a beautiful city park.

  I loved going to Riverdale Farm as a child and now get to share that experience with my two boys. It's a nice way to spend the morning and the kids have fun seeing the animals. Highly recommended.

  One of my favorite Toronto spots...features cows, sheep, goats, cows, horses, chickens, turkeys and roosters. Great, free spot to walk around with kids. Visitors are asked to provide donation if possible . Parking is free, on-street nearby. There is an early years centre in the heart of the farm with drop in programs (see city of Toronto website).

  Sadly I can only give this an average rating. It is much beloved but I don't know why. There are not many animals. They usually are taking shelter far from the fences. It's 'free' but there is a donation box at the entrance making you feel guilty if you walk in. I have tried taking my 2 and 4 year old there three times and they have never enjoyed it. And, bizarrely, the park next door has no playground. It has a wading pool open only 2 months a year. So there is no fallback if the kids don't enjoy the animals. The 'far away' free zoo on Toronto island is far better. My kids always enjoy that. I give them an 'A' for effort. The staff is nice but there is not much there there - especially given how so many parents and teachers give it such high praise.

  Beautiful place in the city. Especially enjoy it when they have the art and craft fairs around it. Wish they had a more working type farm so you could buy fresh eggs or milk...or even ride the horses. Brings back memories of the old zoo. Lucky to have this in the neighborhood.
