Having read a bunch of the reviews, and having used the service and spoken to the manager, I have to say there is some trolling at play in the reviews...

First, they are offering a quick medical service that's a replacement for going to ER or waiting for a Dr's appointment, or having a question in the middle of the night. They aren't pretending to be Cardiologists or any other type of Doctor, BUT if you have a sore throat and need a script, they're the people to call using an App on your phone - (this is important since people keep talking about coming into a clinic, yes, there is one, but that's not the key feature of this service, so its not being understood by the people who've never used it and are slamming the service, what you get is 24/7 medical ON AN APP)

Second, People are complaining while saying they know nothing about the service, the whole idea of the service is to subscribe to an app where you can ask quick medical questions to an expert - I don't know about you, but I'm not an expert... but sometimes I do not feel 100% and a quick question is piece of mind. I like having a medical pro a click away - lets face it, gone are the days of the Country Family Doctor who delivered you and will come to your house at midnight because you're feeling sick. This is an excellent substitute, and I'm only paying a small charge to have it at my fingertips, it's not hundreds per visit like some people are insinuating, its $16 a month!

Third, The name - "its so misleading" come on, are you saying that a Nurse Practitioner is not ethically bound to escalate your care if you needed an actual doctor? If your problem can be addressed by an NP isn't that better - cheaper for OHIP, faster service for you - where's the issue? Oh I get it, those people are focused on being the world's self-deputized police officers, I assume they're the same people who tell me that I shouldn't let my dog poop on the sidewalk even though I have a poop bag with me and I'm about to pick it up.

I think the service is wonderful for what it is, I'd use them for a quick script, or a medical question, I wouldn't expect them to do a hip replacement or brain surgery

One of the NPs came to my office when my daughter was sick and couldn’t go to school - she was fantastic and very professional. My daughter loved her too. Great that I didn’t have to miss work!
Also had a great experience with another one of their NPs on a video call (super convenient). Would definitely recommend HomeMD!

HomeMD is an amazing service and I can't speak highly enough about the service they provide. I was thrilled to transfer from my traditional family doctor to HomeMD. The convenience and outstanding care provided eclipses anything that a traditional practice can provide.

The app is easy to use and extremely well thought out. The negative reviews posted here are clearly posted by traditional MDs who are threatened by an outstanding service that is turning the delivery of medicine on its head.

I would never go back to a traditional practice after being with HomeMD. Everything about the company is truly exceptional. I applaud the entire HomeMD team for their dedication to improving the delivery of medical care in the province of Ontario.

Incidentally, I find it odd that those people who have given HomeMD a single star review all have posted essentially the same comment and have very few reviews to their name. Truth be told, it seems awfully suspicious that these individuals would make almost verbatim posts about the same thing. To me, it sounds like sour grapes from threatened doctors. Don't believe these negative reviews.

Donald Douglas once said "Dream no small dream - it lacks magic. Dream large, then make the dream real". HomeMD has taken a brilliant idea, nurtured it and brought it to life. This Canadian innovation in medical care is unique and surpasses any other telemedicine service available.

    Bravo, HomeMD!
