My Mother-in-law was a resident while suffering from dementia and no longer able to care for herself. The nursing staff treated her with kindness and patience, keeping us informed of her condition and medication changes between our visits. The front desk and administrative staff were always available to help with keeping her comfortable as well (ie. scheduling her in room hair and nail appointments). It was a difficult time for us and I was very glad for all the support from DLTC.
I found the building clean and spacious and the staff competent and friendly. My mother was well cared for but was moved to another facility which catered to people of her ethic background. The new facility was also located close to her friends; otherwise I would have gladly had her remain in Downsview LTC
