(July 11, 2020, 1:32 pm)I visit this excellent restaurant from time to time since I like the special atmosphere that is unique to this place. The team is extremely loyal and skilfull. The service is awfully fast. Also, the food you eat is perfect. I ate there often and I was always delighted. The rate is honest. I highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

(May 11, 2020, 11:34 pm)Since moving to the east end of North York, I've been unable to find a good quality Chinese restaurant for take-out. When I finally found China Gourmet and saw their extensive menu, I was very hopeful. I love egg & mushroom soup and theirs is quite good. The two other dishes I've had, although plentiful in portion size, have been somewhat lacking in flavour but, worse than that, overly greasy. In fact everything seems to be made with far too much oil instead of a tasty sauce. The food promises much but, I'm afraid, doesn't deliver.
What's much worse, though, is how I've been treated as a customer particularly during these trying times. When I've called to place my order the person has been surly and virtually hung up on me without a thanks or good-bye. Then, when arriving to pick up, I've been left standing there with 3 or 4 staff behind the counter all of whom ignore me until I speak up. I understand if they're busy but when I see they're purposely avoiding looking at me, that's just disrespectful. I would think they'd want to be treating customers who bother to come in these days with a little more decency and respect. Can it be that they don't care about having my business? Well, I can easily take it someplace else. -

(August 5, 2019, 1:42 am)China Gourmet has always been excellent. They're better than MANY other Canadian-Chinese restaurants.
I highly recommend their chicken balls and chicken wings. Never too greasy. Lightly seasoned, golden crispy batter. They have huge portions and nearly every dish is a great value.
Their downtown location is the same as their North York. Clearly they are managed very well, and keep a high standard of quality.
Their customer service is superb, and they deliver very fast.
