(November 12, 2018, 9:18 pm)Despite its name, the Academy of Culinary Arts does not offer any classes but is a store dedicated to the art of cooking. It offers quality and unique cooking and baking items. They carry brands such as Lodge, Le Cruset and Bodum as well as some small independent Canadian brands. You would have no trouble finding a gift here for your favourite cook and they even deliver in the surrounding area! My main draw to the store is that they offer aftermarket CO2 canister exchanges for my carbonation/soda machine, through an Etobicoke company called Sodamistic International. They charge about half the price you would pay for canister exchange at larger stores like Canadian Tire, Walmart and Best Buy. It has saved me a ton of money and I love that I can support an independent business. The store also offers knife sharpening. You can drop off your knives before 10 am on Tuesday and they will be ready at the same time the following week. I haven’t yet tried this service so I can’t comment on the sharpening quality, but it seems to be a well-used service by customers I’ve seen in the store. They offer registry services for weddings and showers. The staff is really nice and welcoming and will help you find what you are looking for. You may have a wait a few minutes for them to become available as they take their time with customers. Parking can be a bit hard to find on weekends, but you can park on one of the side streets and walk to Bayview if you can't find a spot out front.

(July 4, 2018, 8:33 pm)It's a small specialty kitchen gadget and accessory shop. Staff are friendly and more than helpful and have anecdotes about their experiences with items they've personally used before. Items in this shop tend to be of better quality.
