{3.5 Stars} Ordered delivery by Skip the Dishes: Small Curry Chicken w/ Rice & Peas, Boneless Chicken Roti, 1x side coleslaw, 1x Fried Plantain
PROS:
- Portion sizes of Curry, Rice & Peas, & Chicken Roti were quite large for price, great value!
- Fried Plantain tasty but seemed expensive for portion size (one single plantain was $3.50)
- Curry Chicken (boneless) seemed to be all dark meat, and had no potato (pro/con depending on your preference)
- Curry gravy was delicious and medium-thick consistency
CONS:
- there were 2 or 3 pieces of gristle in the curry chicken, and tiny bone piece. Be careful if for a child/senior
- Poor Packaging (of curry) for delivery:
Styrofoam flap-lid container, in paper bag, then all in plastic bag,
tied. Curry gravy had leaked all over bottom of paper bag- stained my
countertop. Restaurant could consider using a better sealed container for liquids.
- $2.50 for very small portion of coleslaw, average taste- a bit too sweet, very finely minced texture
- Roti was very thin, and broken up- not wrapped properly, filling exposed. Husband didn't like the overall taste of Roti Chicken.
If we order again in future, I'd try the Jerk Chicken, as that seems to be most popular from other reviews

(August 9, 2022, 7:51 pm)Really delicious lunch spot to check out if you’re in the area! Very well priced and the owner/chef was so kind. Boyfriend had the jerk chicken with rice and peas and oxtail gravy. Chicken was flavourful with a great kick to it. I had the Chana roti which was huge (could only finish half so I have leftovers!), hearty, delicious and perfect for a cloudy day.
Highly recommend and will be coming back! -

(February 10, 2022, 6:41 pm)Owner was super nice, food was amazing. That was my first time having Caribbean food and he set the bar pretty high. My only complaint is that he doesn't sell his pepper sauce, would have taken a bottle back to the US with me.

(January 11, 2022, 1:43 am)So spicy and so nice, just what you need to warm your soul. New spot and the Jerk chicken is 🔥🔥🔥 I'd put it against any in the city. Oxtail and curry goat are tender and flavourful also. Service is excellent and portion size is 👌🏽snapper and fried chicken is up next. 💜🙏🏾

I've eaten here on several occasions and every time the quality & taste are notable. The owner does an excellent job; I recommend!
