(October 30, 2021, 2:27 pm)Looking to purchase a new instrument or have your instrument repaired, then look no further. David McFadden of Bravura House did an excellent job with servicing my husband's cello and my violin.
I purchased my violin from Bravura House in 2015 and I couldn't be happier with this instrument. I recently brought both the cello and the violin to David for new strings. The cello required some repair work as well. David fitted the cello with a new bridge, sanded the fingerboard, dressed the pegs, and adjusted the sound post, tailwire and nut. He went above and beyond by also repairing small nicks and furnishing the cello with a varnish touchup. The instrument looked like new, has a much better, more resonant sound, and the finger action is much improved.
For my violin, David suggested I replace the tailpiece with a better quality carbon fibre/ebony composite and the tailwire with Kevlar. He also serviced the fingerboard, adjusted the sound post, bridge and action, as well as polished and cleaned the chinrest. The violin is now even easier to play. My intonation has improved as well as my string crossings. David's changes have also resulted in a richer more ringing tone. In addition, David restrung my bow with a high quality hair which resulted in much smoother bowing and made a huge difference in playing.
