Scleral lenses have been a life changer for me. I was unable to wear regular contacts due to extremely dry eyes and couldn’t see properly with glasses. I was a little nervous when Dr Thakrar told me that I was a candidate for scleral lenses because I had never used hard lenses before. But she and her staff spent time with me and helped me practice inserting and removing the lenses until I was comfortable with them. I couldn’t believe how clearly I could see everything once I started wearing them. Scleral lenses actually helped me gain my confidence back. Thanks Vaughan Family Vision Care!

Excellent experience. Particularly- Ms. Christie Lee was exceptional with my 4 year old son who is very slow to warm up and has a hard time entering new places or meeting new people. Christie Lee was so friendly and was able to capture his attention with humour and kindness! Thank you!!

Astigmatism, adult keratoconus, post refractive surgery and dry eyes can make contact lens fitting and comfortable contact lens wear more challenging.
Having all these conditions while demanding a high standard of eyesight to finish a lifelong career entailed finding a professional who specializes in contact lenses and welcomes hard to fit patients.
Dr. Thakrar is a contact lens specialist acutely more aware of the latest contact lens technology and options than a general eye doctor.
I purchased a scleral lens and soft toric lenses for keratoconus to meet the necessary vision requirements.
Staff members were all superlative providing two additional pairs of glasses.
Fitting custom contact lenses is very challenging and takes much more time and patience to obtain best possible fit, vision and comfort.
Dr. Thakrar excels in this area, I am most fortunate for my referral to her clinic.

I was referred to Dr.Thakrar for scleral lenses because traditional contact lenses would not fit the shape of my eye. Dr. Thakrar took the time to find the scleral lenses that gave me that perfect fit and did so without ever making me feel rushed. I always felt welcome. I can't recall the last time I actually looked forward to a doctor's appointment but, Dr.Thrakar is the kind of person who makes it clear through word and deed that she cares about her patients; she is also the kind of professional that is always willing to explain and answer any questions or concerns that one might have about their unique situation.
Thank you, Dr. Thakrar, and big thank you to A.J, Jasmine and all the other wonderful women at Vaughan Family Vision Care that took care of me and made me feel at home with each and every visit.
