Emma has been absolutely wonderful with our son. She keeps him engaged and has a very open approach in which he feels extremely comfortable to learn and explore.

We work with Emma at communication kids. She is able to engage my little one to respond accordingly. Emma keeps it fun and full of fun playing activities, yet learning at the same time. My little one was super shy when we first started and now she is supper excited to see Emma, jumps and says she's so excited. Emma had made a great impact on my little ones communication skills, we've come a long way, and couldn't have done it without Emma's help and guidance.

My 2.5 year old son has been working with Emma for 7 months. Over those months my son's expressive language has drastically improved. He went from saying less than 30 words to starting to combine words, make different sounds and use his words to express his needs. Emma completed a detailed initial assessment of my son's expressive language needs as well as his other strengths. After this initial assessment, Emma began to create a program that was tailored to his strengths and interests while targeting key skills. From our very first session, Emma developed a meaningful connection with my son by choosing activities that were of interest to him and could keep him engaged throughout the entire session. Her play-based approach is perfect for my son! He is always excited when we go "play with Emma". What I very much appreciate is how Emma clearly explains the goals of each session to me and gives my husband and I tips for how we can work on certain skills at home. The space at Communication Kids is large enough to allow for many different play experiences. I appreciate the central location in Milton and how there is ample parking.

Emma is awesome! She has been super helpful and patient. She explains in detail why she does what she does and ensures that I am clear and comfortable with goals and understanding my children's progress. She is great at reading the child's mood and adapts her teaching as she goes.

As long term clients, we are very happy with the progress we've made over the last year. Emma has worked hard to find an approach that works for our son and has demonstrated great patience when he's being less than co-operative. She finds ways to reorient and refocus him, making the most of our sessions. She has taken the time to learn about his interests and does a great job at keeping him engaged. We have also appreciated and made use of switching sessions to virtual when feeling sick.
