Foxcreek Dental

There are a few things in life that you take for granted, teeth being one of them. For the most part, I’d rather not go to visit a dentist but do so for my 6-9 month checkup/cleaning and then put it out of my mind. However, when you have an issue like a tooth breaking your expectations grow for getting it fixed, and when such an event happened for me, I felt that luck was on my side as it broke on a weekday (Thursday) and not a weekend when my Dentist office is closed. I called FoxCreek to see if I can get in to have it looked at and hopefully repaired on the Friday. They advertise the office as being open on the Friday and Saturday, yet it turns out that over the summer, this is not always the case. I understand that dentists want to take vacations, but one can always hope it’s not on the weekend that you need help.

The staff did give me a call back the following day to let me know that I can’t get looked at until the Monday. It would have been nice if they might have offered to have a dental hygienist look at it and at least tell me how bad it is. I can’t see inside my own mouth. It would have been nice if dental offices have a better reciprocal method to cover for each other. Just saying that if this is an emergency to call the hospital doesn’t really do much good. I don’t know if it’s an emergency. I’ve not taken a shot to the head and lost all my teeth. That would be a clear emergency. I just want to make sure that I am OK to eat without doing more damage to my broken tooth and making things worse.

I did get into see them on the following Monday and it turned out that part of an old filling along with part of my tooth had broken off. They did manage to smooth it out, but it required a crown, so I opted to get a root canal done at the same time as I have had problems with other broken teeth from an Auto accident. They did eventually get me fitted into their schedule, and the root canal procedure went quite well. Once you do get to see the dentist, he is very easy to talk to and does take the time to explain the procedure and seemed to do a good job without discomfort.

I hope that with some better staff support in being able to explain the options to customers when they are in tooth trouble, that FoxCreek can move back up to the 5 star rating. It might just be a bad experience that I had and not the norm.
