We did a private pre-natal course with Mother Matters. Lenore came to our home and delivered the most educational and relevant to our needs course. We finished the day feeling empowered and prepared for birth. The course is completely non-biased, she supports every decision you want to make regarding your birth and thereafter. We then hired Lenore as a postpartum doula who provided breastfeeding and mental health support. She would come directly to our home, as a new Mom that is incredible. Lenore’s knowledge and expertise in the realm of breastfeeding is indescribable. She is the reason I continued to breastfeed my son past 3 weeks and still (almost 2 years later!). She helped my family find ways to get more sleep...and taught me to “make mothering easy”...words in which I live to this day. I also attended bi-weekly Mother Matters mommy meet ups at Lenore’s home. It was amazing to meet up with Mom’s and to talk about what we are going through, again another completely unbiased experience. I truly can’t say enough about this company. I wish I could give them 6 out of 5 stars!

Jennifer Woods was my doula for my first pregnancy this summer. From the first few minutes of chatting with her, I knew this was going to be a perfect fit. A great listener and supporter, Jennifer was thorough in helping us discuss our birth preferences by listening and working though any concerns, fears, and hopes for the birth of our baby. We opted for a home birth, and leading up to the big day, Jennifer supported me along the way with helpful suggestions of exercises and techniques to encourage as peaceful of a home birth as possible.

As it turned out, after three days of labour, I wasn't going to delivery my baby at home as I had hoped. Without judgment or hesitation, Jennifer stayed by my side from the first pangs of labour pains until our daughter was born and we were settled into our room at the hospital. Her support physically, mentally and emotionally allowed me to feel like I had a friend by my side throughout.

Postpartum, Jennifer's support in breastfeeding was crucial. I learned helpful techniques and positions that I still use today, including how to properly pump, express milk and feed my daughter like a pro!

Overall, I recommend working with Jennifer for your birth--there's truly nothing better than an experienced hand to listen and support one of the most incredible experiences in your life, and for me, this person was Jennifer.

Lenore was my doula for my first pregnancy and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than what she gave me. The mother matters prenatal course provided me with the tools I needed to feel prepared for my first labour, and coupled with Lenore’s extensive experience and calm nature, I had the best birth experience I could have asked for!

We took Lenore's prenatal class before our daughter was born (we have two little ones now). Our Midwifery clinic recommended the class to us, and we could not have been happier!

Because of the sense of community Lenore created in the way she brought our group through discussions and learning, it was easy for us to share our concerns and fears while learning valuable information that had real world positive impact during our birthing experience. She empowered us through knowledge and preparation to be able to make informed decisions about our healthcare, which ensured we had the delivery we wanted.

We hired Lenore as our doula for our second child. I was more nervous at the anticipation of my second labour than I was my first. Lenore met with us several times before and really made me feel at ease. She made up a birth plan for me that made me feel very comfortable and in control. She was with us throughout the labour and delivery and was a constant comforting and warm presence by my side. I could not recommend her as a doula enough. (She even took some beautiful pictures of us holding our son for the first time).
