This mortgage team was hands down the best team to work with. They went out of their way to ensure that we received the best mortgage rate, etc. We were constantly updated on any pending items to ensure timely completion. They made us feel like we were family, not just a client. They were not only professional, extremely competent, but friendly with a great sense of humour. I would recommend Halton team mortgage to anyone and everyone. If you use someone else you definitely won't receive the same customer service and care.
I highly recommend taking the time to meet with HTM. My wife and I had been to banks in the past and really didn't have a comfortable or confident feeling after meeting with any of the in-house staff at banks (TD, NBC, Tandia). (FYI - many banks train their staff on the front line in these positions and give incentives to their employees on all the products - meaning many are still fresh and learning - while helping you with one of your biggest life decisions)
We took a half hour to sit down with HTM before we bought our first home and it was the best 30 minutes we could have invested in our future.
They explained everything to us in layman's terms - helped us understand why getting the lowest rate may not always be the best option and how to avoid large penalties if you decide to move early.
We've since sold our first home and bought another one with HTM. I've also referred my father to HTM (which he also used HTM services).
Whenever I hear my friends mention they are going to a big bank to get their mortgage I have to laugh (and it's always followed up with me giving out HTM info). After all - if I didn't at the very least share HTM's info I'd be doing my friends and loved ones a BIG disservice.
HTM is going to get you a mortgage through one of the banks - it's just that they are in your corner and actually want to ensure you're happy with the product and they are actually available at pretty much any hour to text/call.
HTM allowed us to feel confident about buying and making the right decision for our family of four.
If you want to buy a home - at least spend some time talking to them to find out if you're a good fit to work together.
