(May 12, 2023, 10:22 pm)If you're in the mood for some of the best Trinidadian cuisine in town, then look no further than Mammaminas. This takeout restaurant is an absolute gem, offering a menu of authentic Trinidadian dishes that are bursting with flavour and sure to satisfy your cravings.
I ordered the curried chicken and it was delicious - a generous portion of savory curried chicken and potatoes inside roti. The flavors were authentic and very savoury. The doubles are another must-try dish - soft bara breads filled with a tasty curried chickpea and tamarind mixture.
The service from Angie is fast, efficient, and extremely friendly. She's happy to answer any questions you might have and make recommendations based on your preferences. You can tell that she is very passionate about her culture.
Overall, Mammaminas is an exceptional takeout restaurant that's well worth a visit. The food is authentic, delicious, and very reasonably priced. If you're craving Trinidadian food or you're simply looking for something new to try in the Cobourg area, then show some support to this great local restaurant! -

(February 15, 2023, 6:00 pm)First visit today and it will not be our last. A warm greeting as soon as I walked in and quick friendly service. Chicken roti and doubles.... wow. Spot on and if you like it spicy, the pepper sauce is good and hot. Our new go to for sure.

(September 4, 2022, 4:45 pm)So good. Try any roti with pepper sauce in it if you like spice. Very good without too, in which case try the delicious and tangy mango chutney on the side. I always get a side of pepper sauce to zing it up throughout the meal, with the pepper in it as well. It is spicy, but so flavourful that its worth it. With the sweet and sour mango to balance it all out.... yes.

Side note: I’m a big fan of supporting local restaurants in general. This family-run business is a story worth celebrating. I’m a big fan of Angie and the family already!
