(September 29, 2020, 1:58 pm)The Tower, Park and Trail are CLOSED for the 2020 season due to Covid-19. Because of this closure, the public water tap is currently not accessible. There will be no seasonal passes issued at this time. Additional public water taps within the Township of Algonquin Highlands can be found at: Stanhope Airport located at 1168 Stanhope Airport Rd., the Main Township Office located at 1123 North Shore Rd., and the Dorset Rec Center located at 1051 Main St. All users are reminded that these are public facilities where extraordinary hygiene protocols are required. Violations of this closure are enforceable by the Ontario Provincial Police.

How often do you get the chance to see miles across cottage country, from a vantage point you've never viewed, or may ever get a chance to view again? You can stay home anytime; you can stroll through country stores hundreds more times; but when you consider that climbing a fire lookout tower is a punctuating moment between more of the same-old-same-old moments, then you'll do yourself the favour of checking it out and making a new memory.

(July 14, 2020, 11:12 pm)Great place to visit....hopefully now we are entering stage 3 this is reopened. No reason for it to be closed, it is already a use at your own risk structure. And people can decide if to use it or not.
