Our son had struggled with reading fluency over the years. We recently had him assessed by Dr. Khamis, who had recommended vision therapy to help with difficulty focusing on near work leading to eye fatigue and headaches. These struggles contributed to visual processing issues. Basically what we saw was a 9 year old boy who avoided reading, and ultimately struggled with comprehension. After about 3-4 months of vision therapy - not only did his test scores improve dramatically, but we also saw a new found confidence and interest in reading! The vision therapists (specifically Kopila) was excellent to work with … she had a great way of engaging him in therapy while ensuring it was fun! She even included his little brother as he often came with us to the sessions. I would highly encourage you to consider London Vision Development Centre for vision therapy!

We brought our child to LVD for therapy to help with her reading, eye training in, and help with dyslexia/ADHD to give her the best chance to read. We have completed our first course of 12 treatments and have seen amazing improvement. Shane was amazing with her; always worked to keep her focused and engaged (not the easiest thing!), and she was always excited to go to eye therapy.

Support for home-based elements was good. $80 for an eye patch and photocopies is a bit steep.

Reception has room for improvement. Getting first appointment took many calls and emails (most initial ones went unanswered). Hours changed mid-way through treatment and with one day available with Dr Khamis, it was a challenge to book.

Location also changed during our therapy course into a wonderful, open space. This caused some confusion about where some appointments would be which could have been improved by better communication.

Overall, we are very happy with the results from Dr Khamis and his team (especially our therapist Shane!) and we will be returning to continue improving our child's vision.

I don’t know how to express my feelings. Without your help I wouldn’t be able to have a normal life again. After that terrible incident I felt like a disabled person. I didn’t see any light at the end of tunnel. You and your team were the light. You changed my difficult life to a better and brighter one. If I can laugh again and be positive it’s all your help. I really really appreciate your help. You not only treated my eyes but also helped me to stay positive and continue getting better. I love you all( dr. Khamis, lovely Joan and kopila)
I wish you all the best.

I was in car collision in May of 2017 which resulted in a life altering concussion that lasted for 6months. I was basically unable to do any of the things I enjoyed doing or was required to do walk my dogs, do laundry, clean the house, cook a meal, read a book, use a computer, watch TV, have meaningful conversations, concentrate on any task that required thought, I was unable to work and I could only drive very short distances. I was extremely frustrated and upset that my life had come to a halt. I was referred by my optometrist to Dr. Khamis and his team, who have been instrumental in helping me regain my independence and my life.

With their support and guidance I have recovered my ability to read, write, walk my dogs, watch TV and use the computer. I just recently was given the go ahead to return to work where I can actually feel like a productive member of society again. I no longer feel nauseated when I try to read- I can actually read a book for as long as I want. This is a huge accomplishment as after my concussion I could not even read a sentence without becoming nauseated, developing a headache and dizziness. I can drive as far as I want without having to plan routes where it’s avoiding turns which makes life much easier and takes less time! I have returned to my old self!

Having Joan and Dr. Khamis there to support me and encourage me along the way has been a true blessing. Even when I struggled with the tasks they gave me, their reassurance helped me push through all of the difficulties I faced. Thank you for helping me to get my life back
