After living 18 years in this home, the spring of 2017 presented me with a first and terrible case of "hydrostatic pressure", resulting in severe flooding in my 1100 sq ft. basement. Luckily, WET BASEMENT SOLUTIONS had an ad on the local community radio station. I called, and before long they were here to help. It was an impressive operation with 6 men and jackhammers and buckets and a dumpster and cement mixers and more. What an impressive and professional operation it was to watch!! In less than two days a full water collection system was sealed under the cement floor, and two pumps ran off and on day and night for several weeks.
This spring, 2 years later, with groundwater again reaching those historic highs, the system kicked in before I had a drop of moisture get in to the basement.
Now when I hear their ad on local radio I yell, THOSE GUYS ARE MY HEROES...!!

I was the sales technician that visited Mike's house on two separate occasions regarding the water that penetrates through the electrical conduit. As I explained to Mike, and several other home owners over the years as this is a much more common problem than folks would realize. The issue isn't with their basement, their walls and floors are fine. The conduit that comes into the home and brings the electricity from the main trunk to their electrical panel, is cracked somewhere under the ground between that main line and their home. The conduit is a round tube that enters through their wall behind the panel. Inside the conduit is the main electrical line for the home. Water gets into the conduit somewhere out in their yard, then travels through the tube into the basement.

We recommended to Mike that he hire an electrician to completely remove the panel, disconnect the electricity completely, and allow us to cover the entry point with water collection patch. That solution was going to be costly and time consuming and as the homeowner, he made the decision to just allow us to try out best to do what we could with the panel moved off to the side. We also explained at the time that this patch would not come with a warranty as it was not our recommended solution.

Even without a warranty, a second home visit was made when the problem came back and a second attempt was made, at cost.

The proper method to fix this problem would be to call his electric provider and have them dig the line and replace the conduit with one that isn't cracked. That solution has been recommended numerous times.

I had Wet Basement Solutions complete some work and I was very impressed with their professionalism, experience, and high quality of work. They completed the job as agreed upon terms of the contract. There were some small items that they went above and beyond to do at no extra charge. On completion of the job, the work area was cleaner than before they started. I highly recommend Wet Basement Solutions, the system works!!

Wet Basement Solutions has the unfortunate situation where due to the loss of their support person, (a death) they cannot formally reply to the customer comments on this site. Our alternate solution is to write a review and provide the balanced view of the situation so this very negative review can be balanced with facts. We are also in the process of securing a new Wet Basement Inc Google account.

Specific to Kyle Carnegie’s complaints including the Better Business Bureau where it was responded to with the following:
“The installation is over 8 years old and the regular service schedules had not been maintained. Per the warranty agreement regular maintenance is required by Wet Basement solutions. In addition, the equipment cannot be changed, modified, or tampered with by anyone other than an authorized person. The customer had admitted to changes and modifications.
The customer also alleges the use of improper parts during the last visit even though it was explained repeatedly that the manufacturer no longer makes the part he is requesting. It no longer exists!

Wet Basement Solutions has hundreds of very satisfied customers where solutions were provided to fix their wet basement challenges. Doug and his team take pride in what they do and work with the customers in a very professional manner.

I thought I would wait for the first big thaw and rain before commenting on our experience with Wet Basement Solutions. The process was not as invasive as I had anticipated. The gentlemen were professional and took the time to explain. They cleaned up the property after the work done as to what originally was. After the first big thaw, there was a huge difference as we did not have to camp out infront of the sump pump. To my surprise, the basement no longer has that 'basement smell' which has given me more living space. Excellent work, good bunch of men who were serious about getting the job done. I highly recommend.
