The Grand Hotel

The Grand Hotel team hosted our micro-wedding reception and the experience start to finish was wonderful!

The bridal suite is a gorgeous space that both served as a space for my bridal party to get ready but also hosted our small, intimate post-wedding dinner. I highly recommend the location – your photographer will thank you!

Our wedding dinner was one of the best meals we’ve ever had and Chef Jordan was wonderful to work with! Our meal was fully compliant with my complex dietary restrictions, the food was incredibly fresh and on-season and the portions were incredibly generous!

Steve was highly responsive and delivered far above and beyond our expectations. We were touched that he truly went the extra mile for our special day and made it a painless and enjoyable experience!

Many thanks to the entire Grand Hotel team for making our wedding experience perfect! We can’t wait to visit again for a weekend away.

For the price, not really worth it in my opinion. I stayed with my husband the day after our wedding and our room felt pretty sparse and there were repairs that had to be made (cracks/dings in the wall, chipped paint). We were never informed at check in about what their covid procedure was and there were a few times people were going in and out without masks. The building is quite lovely though and the staff were friendly, pub attached was good too. Overall I would say it's an ok option if in the area but I would not make it a destination.

The team at The Grand Hotel hosted our very small, COVID-edition wedding this past July and I could not have asked for a better venue or team to work with. The setting was perfect, and the decor was set up beautifully by the team - they went the extra mile with tiny touches that I would have never thought of. Chef Jordan's meal was excellent - every single person commented on the gourmet-quality of their meal as well as the generous portion sizes. The team was incredibly accommodating, and were instrumental in making this happen, always keeping us updated with the latest news based on local pandemic measures. Lastly, the bridal suite - if you want your photographer to fall in love with every square inch of the indoors, host your wedding here.

We loved our stay here! It was very clean which is always important, but even more so during Covid. Steve was extremely personable and hospitable (As were the rest of the staff) and he made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. Plus the hotel is very historic and well kept. We will definitely come back!

Our stay at the Grand Hotel was excellent! The staff are super friendly and are taking safety precautions due to the pandemic.

The room was very clean and nicely air conditioned, much appreciated during this heatwave. The pub attached to the hotel was also great and convenient. Lots of shops and restaurants are nearby, the hotel is in a very accessible area. Will visit again!
