We had an exposed aggregate driveway done by Charles Legato at Custom Tec Concrete. We love the driveway; it looks beautiful! We found Charles to be an honest, professional and hard working person with many years of experience that really showed in the finished product. His pricing was fair and he explained the process in detail to us beforehand. He made sure we were happy with the driveway layout when he had the forming done, before any concrete was poured. Our driveway was so long he had to do the job as two separate pours. We were concerned that perhaps the two separate areas would not match well, but they look exactly the same. He used a lot of rebar with close spacing between the bars and he had little risers he put at the rebar intersections so the rebar was held in the middle layer of the concrete as opposed to just sitting at the bottom of the concrete. Charles took care to ensure the driveway was graded properly so that the rainwater drains properly, away from our garage and there are no areas on our driveway where the water pools. He put an attractive 6 inch border all along our driveway and he did a diamond shaped saw cut pattern all over the driveway that was perfectly done and looks wonderful. He took care to minimize the mess around the driveway and his crew cleaned up the surrounding lawn well when the work was done. Charles applied several coats of sealer and then added a sparkle that reflects the sunlight and looks beautiful. We did not pay him for the work until it was completed and in the end he actually charged us less money than his original quote as his material costs were lower than expected.
