(June 23, 2020, 7:33 pm)Despite my initial self-doubt about wanting to hire a birth photographer, I can't overstate how happy I am with my decision to have Tasha photograph the birth of my son.
As with most births, there are moments of intensity, unpredictability, love, fear, humour - and she was present to help capture those moments. I was in no state to remember or even really understand everything that was happening in the moment. Having these photos not only fills my own memory of that day - but will help me tell E the story of his birth.
Tasha was calm, respectful and unobtrusive. Because the birth took place in hospital, she was able to gracefully balance my desire to have her there throughout with any requests of the staff present. She stayed through my surgery to be present and capture our first moments together out of the OR.
On top of all that - the photos are beautiful. Exactly the style I expected and hoped for - and she sent them to us in very good time.
I am so grateful to Tasha for the true and sensitive perspective she brought to photograph our most important day. -

She suggested an in person meet to discuss her services before hand which hadn't occured to me but was great to have a face to face before she came for the birth! She was quick to arrive when we called her in the wee morning hours. It was amazing - she was everywhere and nowhere! I can't believe the beautiful moments she captured. I didn't notice her presence during labour and barely at all afterwards. We have the most amazing family photos and she even stepped into the backyard with our older child and captured some adorable candids after the fun was over! I can't recommend her enough and can't wait to use her again!
