I should keep this place as my little secret and not comment, but I'll do it for the sake of Verger Drouin. This orchard, for us, is a family tradition. We go there annually, as a ritual, a pilgrimage. Some years, it's twice, three times that we go there. It is so nice!
Our island tour starts early in the morning, before the bridge gets too busy. We go around on the south side, direction La Boulange (4624, chemin Royal, Saint-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, QC G0A 3W0). We go to the end of the island and come back by the north side. We stop at the Orchard just at the opening.
After a short tractor ride (in the trailer), we pick the apples. The employees and Mr. Drouin are always very nice and very welcoming. We are well explained how to pick up the apples (although this is no longer the case for us given the number of visits). There are several kinds, which allows us to have different, crunchy, fresh apples at the same time. At four, we pass the bag of twenty pounds in a few weeks. Most of the time it takes us less than two weeks. That's why we're going back.
You can obviously go to other orchards on the island and I'm sure their apples are very good too. On the other hand, the detour to the Verger Drouin is worth it. It's quieter, the trees are healthy, full of fruit. The apples are excellent and very affordable. Again this year, the 20-pound (9-kilo) bag is $ 20 and the 10-pound (4.5-kilogram) bag is $ 10.
Keep an eye out for other seasonal offers. Sometimes you can buy very fresh vegetables, but also excellent little plums. What happiness!

Anyway, I should stop selling this business because it's my little treasure hidden at the end of the island. I make the detour every year, leaving from the northern suburbs of Quebec, to go for a walk in the orchard, take beautiful photos of the children, have a picnic and take the family out for a bit.
