But the, rapids are beautiful. And a gorgeous spot to explore. -

(July 6, 2020, 12:13 pm)Awesome! Beautiful area, stunning scenery, perfect river with shallow area and large pond, also white water rapids. Tall trees on the river bank provide shade, and offers walking trails. The Gull river is part of the Trent Severin Waterway and a lock system was being repaired when we visited. Normally you can cross over the bridge-dam and see how the locks work. We will have to go back to see when it is completed. The municipality set up picnic areas next to the river, which were lovely and shaded but it is inadequate, since there were only 2 tables. They need a few more picnic areas with built in grills and a few benches for people to enjoy this majestic scenery. Only one broken down garbage bin to collect waste and no recycling receptacle. 2 porta potties were on site, near the picnic area. No change area, so come with bathing suit underneath. The kids went swimming in the pond which is shallow and has a rocky beach. Note: bring water shoes to wear in the water (two of the kids cut their feet on the rocky bottom) and flip flops for when you get out since it is a natural shoreline and is full of small stones. The pond swimming area is 3-4 minutes walk along the major road to get to the picnic area. Parking is limited in both areas.

(July 3, 2020, 9:21 pm)Wonderful facility offering unparalleled lessons in whitewater kayaking, great for novice paddlers up to experts. Park and play available too in picturesque setting on Gull River. Affordable camping as well, with ample amenities. Love this piece of heaven!
