(March 20, 2019, 11:27 pm)We contacted Jenny after our daughter was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic at the age of 8.
Our daughter became extremely anxious and scared to go to school.... she was afraid that the kids would make fun of her and not want to be her friend. It was a struggle for us to even get her on the bus, let alone stay a full day at school.
Our daughter was completely terrified, and for the first time my husband and I felt helpless.
I spoke with Jenny and she explained what she planned to do with her... through painting, story telling and other crafts she was able to give our daughter tools to help her during her day.. starting with getting on the bus!
Our daughter is now back to her confident, fun filled self!! She knows that T1D doesn’t make her weak, it makes her strong! Super stong!
Jenny spoke to our daughter like she was ‘just one of the girls’, made her feel comfortable and in fact she didn’t even realize that she was be taught coping mechanisms.
We thank Jenny for helping!! She truly makes her people feel loved. She is a wonderful person that does amazing things for young people.
