You may be turned down for an animal you like, but that's just what's best for both of you. They helped me adopt my sweet old dog; Chuck. He's the perfect fit for our family.

(November 2, 2020, 10:23 pm)I had the unfortunate duty of having to surrender my dog that I adopted 6 months previously from the humane society during the pandemic
I didn't have a meet and greet.
Murphy was dropped off to my house and that was that. Long story short. After 6 months I knew that I didn't have the strength to keep up with him. The people at the humane society were very kind and understanding. Murphy found a new home very quickly. I'm so happy that I made the right decision. Even though my heart still hurts, I know he is in better hands. -
