Deven's Mobile Welding

The other day, my husband and I were on our way home from Glencoe Ontario after buying a car.

We had rented a uhaul car trailer to get the car he had purchased back home. We live about 3 hours South-East of Glencoe outside Toronto.

Anyhow, around 6pm on Tuesday my husband's truck broke down on our way back with the car loaded on the trailer. He got out, and being a mechanic, he was quickily able to determine he had broken the throttle linkage. He tried to tape it back together, and it barely got us off the highway before braking again.

Being 6 pm, we weren't going to be able to get a new part to get ourselves home, and didn't want to pay for a tow for both his truck, the trailer and car for which we were towing, and didn't want to wait until the next day in a hotel when he had a new one back home. I ended up doing a Google search for mobile welders and began working my way down the list Google had provided.

The first place on the list there was no answer. The next couple of guys told me they didn't feel like coming out so late on such short notice without charging me an absolutely ridiculous amount for not much more than a little simple tack weld. I ended up calling Deven's Mobile Welding with low hopes, and to my surprise, he answered, and with a quite friendly attitude.

When I explained to Deven our situation, and what the deal was with the others I called, he told me he would be happy to come get us back on the road. I hung up, and sent him my current location, and in just over 20 minutes, he was pulling up to us on the side of the now dark road. We had a nice brief little chat, and he took the broken linkage off, prepped it and did a great job welding the 2 broken pieces back together. Had it not been for his quick service, we probably would have ended up having to spend the night in the truck on the side of the road.

Needless to say, we made it home, with no issues, and the same linkage is still on his truck. Best part is, Deven only charged us 100 bucks too! Quite reasonable price considered to all the others I called before him!
