(August 10, 2023, 1:49 pm)On August 8 at approx 6:45 am I blew a tire on Hwy 53 near Burford. I called Roadside Assistance and they could not get anyone to me for over 2 hours. I did not want to be stranded on the Hwy for that length of time so was making a phone call when a van pulled up behind me. I was a little nervous until I seen the man was in a uniform. As he approached my window I seen the Fire Dept emblem and felt so much better.
The name of this fireman was Jessie Rowntree and he seen that I was in distress on the Hwy and turned around and came to assist me. He changed my tire and had me back on the road again in less than 10 minutes.
Not many people do this anymore and I cannot express enough my heartfelt thanks to Jessie. You are the best of the best.
