All of the guests we met were friendly and cheerful, a definite reflection of how this place is run. We certainly will be back and are so thankful we found this gem!

If you like to boat and fish then this is your place to stay. Awesome fishing and one of the most beautiful boating spots in the world. Good boat ramp and lots of docks to keep your boat well protected.
Don't miss this spot.

(August 17, 2020, 11:06 pm)Great location, clean campground, and absolutely fantastic owners. They offered a group of us campers an impromptu sunset boat tour of the area complete with a swim at a sandy beach. Great place to stay - would highly recommend!

(August 3, 2015, 10:56 am)Almenara En El Rio is a lovely quiet spot near the outlet of the Spanish River on the North Channel of Lake Huron. They have tent campsites, trailer sites, a small marina, boat launch and boat storage. Jean and Russ, the folks who own/run this place are very friendly and helpful with finding the right local people to keep your vacation running smoothly. We spent a couple of days there recently when our sailboat motor was in need of repair. When you are on vacation and something bad happens, it is very difficult to find help in an area where you don't know anyone. Russ put us in contact with all the right people and made it possible for us to be back on the water in a couple of days!
