If you want a mechanic who shows pride in his work and will try their best to fix your car, Fastlane is a wonderful place. They do tend to replace parts before calling you. I suspect that is because it takes time to take my car apart and it makes no sense to have my car just hanging there waiting for me to approve of replacing a part. They do have other customers and other cars to fix. You should communicate when you drop your car off if you have limited funds or if you just want to have your car looked at and not fixed. I took my car in for oil changes and I have also taken my car in for a oil leak and problems with the breaks. I have always told them that if it is over X amount call me first because I may not be able to pay for it. They always called me first.
