I took the workshop on pelvic floor muscles, “Not Just Kegels.” It was informative and interactive. Pregnant, postpartum, neither, male, or female, I think the exercises discussed could be relevant to anyone’s pelvic floor health, help with posture and function as well! Thank you!!

I could not have gotten through the birth of my son without Sujata's assistance as a doula. She helped me plan and lay out what I wanted prior to birth in the easiest way possible. And she was there every minute of a long 2 day labor, from a phone call away to all night and day at the hospital. I was able to use her guidance and support to adapt to my needs while in labor and still accomplish my end goals of having a healthy mom and baby and avoiding a C-section. Not to mention the support she gave my husband as well, so he could be a important part of the whole process. Highly highly recommend if you are considering a doula!

We hired Sujata to help make our birthing experience easier and less stressful and received that and much more in return. We met with several other local doulas and Sujata was just obviously more informed and organized than the others.

We highly recommend you meet with Sujata if you are considering hiring a doula. She will have you well informed and prepared for the big day and will keep your head from spinning when the day comes.

    Thanks Sujata!

Without the help from Sujata at Mother Nurture WNY, I would not have had the birthing experience I had, and would have given up and asked for meds a lot sooner than I did. Having no time to prepare fully for the birth with house renovations and a full time job before the baby came, Sujata's help was invaluable. She helped me through the worst of labor- walking with me, breathing with me, talking me down from the ledge so to speak. She was incredibly compassionate, reassuring, and understanding- which I thought was rather difficult since my labor had me projectile vomiting with each major contraction (yikes!) - she stuck with me and didn't seem to mind! I knew I wanted pain medicine at some point, and had discussed that with her in advance, but was trying to hold off for as long as I could. I did not feel like I was being judged when I demanded (screamed) at my husband to get me the epidural when I could no longer take it. She definitely lets you decide what you want and is supportive through it (wether you want pain medicine or not, she will listen to you and help you). She kept telling me how hard I was working and how proud she was of me and how great I was- it was just what I needed to hear. She was also an advocate for me when I couldn't find my voice. The hospital wanted to put me on pitocin and pain meds IMMEDIATELY when I got there, and she reminded me it was MY choice- and kept asking questions, like 'is this necessary now, can we wait to decide', etc. I really loved that- I was too timid to speak to the nurses and doctors frankly. After the birth, she was the first to visit me at home, bringing me food and emotional support in the days after when I needed it most, and helped me with tips on breastfeeding and how to manage my new baby. She is incredibly passionate about birthing, and was hands down the reason I was able to get through childbirth, prolong pain medicine, and made me feel like a warrior when I felt like I was falling apart. She was my right hand and my north star through one of the most painful, difficult, and magical experiences of my life.
