Our experience with Maritime has been good, though our system was poorly designed by the HVAC contractor we hired. It is undersized by approximately 2 tons (update: Possibly even by 3!!!!!), and the contractor is unwilling to admit that it is undersized and take responsibility for their major blunder. However, this should not reflect poorly on Maritime as they were not the ones who undersized the system. Staff has been supportive, especially Susan, and poor contractor work should not reflect poorly on this company. In the event that we upsize to a higher capacity unit, we will absolutely be getting another TF series unit. To other readers out there, please make sure your contractors size the unit correctly and have a heat loss calculation completed, otherwise you will have many, many headaches which may need to be settled in courts. That is not a reflection of Maritime and their units, just poor/dishonest contractor work.

The only thing I'd add is Maritime may need to question doing business with contractors who lack integrity. We are located near Cornwall, Ontario.

Our existing water to air heat pump failed at the most inopportune time last summer in the middle of a heat wave. We had been looking at replacing it for about a year and I had done a lot of research. We chose to go with a 5 ton Nordic unit from Maritime Geothermal Ltd for a few reasons. One of the big factors was our local geothermal company, KIngscross. He had servicing our old unit for years and was always extremely prompt and reasonable as far as repair costs. The second reason was the specs, options and features of the Nordic unit that met our requirements. The 3rd was that it is Canadian made and Maritime Geothermal Ltd reputation. They were not the least expensive but as have since found out they are by well worth the money. The installation was a non event. Removing the old unit to installing the new furnace and connecting it to our hot water supply and plumbing it to our ground water supply took 2 days. From the moment it was fired up we suspected that we had made the right decision. It is extremely quiet and I would say that the capacity to raise the temperature from the daytime settings to normal temperature is comparable to a gas furnace but the cost of running it is much cheaper. It runs about one third of the time that our old unit did and the available features of hot water preheating and the multiple fan speeds work out great since our fireplace is connected to the cold air plenum for additional savings. Bottom line...if I had to do it all over gain I would definitely go with a Nordic unit and the same installer. Both are phenomenal.

On one occasion I called Maritime Geothermal Ltd. during a storm when the highways and roads were impassable . My heat pump was not functioning . The technician I was speaking to over the phone was able to talk me through the repair .. He first asked if I was mechanically inclined . Which I appreciated , some customers may not have been, But after about a half hour on the cell phone we were able to repair the system to working order.......This was very helpful and excellent service in this scenario..THANKS TO MARITIME GEORHERMAL LTD.
